| Name: | Hades |
|---|

Character: Hades
Series/Fandom: Disney’s Hercules
Original or Alternate: Original
Age: Presumably ageless, or uh… really, really old?
Gender: Male.
Species: God of the underworld.
Sexuality: Asexual.
Appearance:
It would be an understatement to say that Hades is ‘hot’. Meaning of course, that he’s consistently on fire. To be more specific, it’s blue fire, which flares red when he gets angry (*coughoftencough*). Hades himself is also blue, with an elongated face, cunning, yellow eyes, and pointed teeth.
He dresses simply, wearing a black toga over more black clothes.
Personality:
Short-tempered, hot headed, sarcastic, and manipulative, Hades always expects to get his own way. And why shouldn’t he? Being the god of the dead does have it’s perks. Of course, this never did away with his extreme jealousy and the desire to get everything and everything he desires.
Strangely enough, he has patience. Perhaps not much, but if it’s necessary in order to benefit his plans, he will wait for the opportune moment.
He constantly makes dry, sarcastic remarks about anything that displeases him. These are normally followed by a bout of anger. What makes this so distinct is that although he tries to keep a cool head (no pun intended), he often snaps, even flaring up so that his dissatisfaction is physically evident.
Hades is also somewhat vain and very confident in himself but not in others. This is ironic because he often prefers to order others around to do his work. Then he gets furious when they fail.
Abilities/Strengths:
The ability to create fire at will, as well as his ability to manipulate others despite his temper are Hades’ two greatest strengths.
Weapons:
He has no physical weapons.
Weaknesses:
Being a god, he’s immortal, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to losing. He can be overconfident, and his short temper can sometimes get the better of him >3
History:
The exact details of the beginning of Hades’ ‘life’ are unknown. Not long after he was ‘born’, he and his two brothers, Zeus and Poseidon, overthrew the titans to become the rulers of the sky, sea, and underworld.
Hades lost a game of chance with the other two and ended up stuck with the dead guys, blaming Zeus for his troubles. His new goal became overthrowing Zeus and taking control of all of Mount Olympus.
Of course, in order to do this, he would need some help. The very titans that he helped to overthrow, to be exact. He had to find a way to free them from the Tartarus. Consulting the three fates, he found out that this would be possible on the night all the planets are perfectly aligned. This would occur eighteen years from then.
He was also told that the only one who would be able to stop him would be Hercules, the son of Zeus. Pondering this, he hatched an evil scheme. He ordered Pain and Panic, two of his lowly minions, to use a potion and turn Hercules mortal. The assumption was that they would kill him after and get rid of Hades’ only threat.
As things turned out, they failed at the task. Luckily for them, Hades was never informed at the time. Eighteen years later, he discovered that Hercules was actually alive. This created an issue, and he needed to resolve it.
